On his new period film, Little Ashes, Robert Pattinson plays a young Salvador Dali. He has an extremely gay scene with Javier Beltran who portrays and poet Federico Garcia Lorca.
“I thought I’d never get another acting job again. So I was like, ‘Yeah—why not try to do something weird?’ There’s all these gay sex scenes. And y’know, I haven’t even done a sex scene with a girl, in my whole career… And here I am, with Javier [Beltrán], who plays Lorca, doing an extremely hard-core sex scene, where I have a nervous breakdown afterward. And because we’re both straight, what we were doing seemed kind of ridiculous,” said Twilight's dreamy vampire
Both actors didn't seem to have much of a problem with their sexuality (apparently according to them), although they have mentioned it to be awkward given it was an open set and their were a bunch of Mexican technical people just giggling at their rather gay scene with one guy trying to hump the other doggie style while having a nervous breakdown
This is another movie I definitely have to see! Little Ashes should be interesting. Robert Pattinson probably needs this a whole lot after being type-cast into the perennial archetype of the dreamy vampire which people will be counting on for the next few years still.
It must have been refreshing to break out of that mold. This is just a little too extreme for my case if I do say so myself
