The good girl image of Selena Gomez just keeps stretching on and on. Apparently she doesn't want to be a solo artist. She wants to be in a band - something different from friend, Demi Lovata and very fierce competition Miley Cyrus. Selena Gomez is also learning how to play drums, aside from the electric guitar which she already knows. No big deal I guess to be part of a band, it will mostly depend on her managing team - particularly Disney on how they'd want to launch this pop princess. It's better for her to fail and/ or succeed as part of a team though.
And that drowns out a lot of insecurity issues as well. she's still young, she might change her mind tomorrow.
It's such a coincidence that you would think these starlets just coordinate their each and every move. Just when we see news on Shia Labeouf, here comes up and coming teen superstar Selena Gomez (a.k.a. Next Mily Cyrus) saying she has a crush on the guy. Well who wouldn't? He is pretty cute, but just that they'd flaunt this information so freely at just the right time is just well... marketing-esque if there is such a word.
Anyway more on Selena Gomez - she has basically dismissed the Miley Cyrus video as nothing to worry about. Who has the time right? She's way to busy denying her relationship with Nick Jonas (this is Miley Cyrus' ex-boyfriend by the way) as well as putting together her own movie - Another Cinderella Story. Here's a trailer. It's quite cute actually - they've added a touch of 21st century angst and pop moves to it so it is quite entertaining
Popstar Magazine interviewed Miley Cyrus about her Youtube video making fun of Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. She apparently apologized, citing that it wasn't really "mocking" just her being "funny."
Well I think it was mean. Although she did say if they were offended she's "sorry" but that it was supposed to be something that was meant to "flatter" the other 2 starlets, which of course is quite hard to believe. Anyway, you tell me if you believe it
Okay here's the deal. Selena Gomez has been dubbed the "NEXT" Miley Cyrus of Disney Channel. I guess with the onslaught of photo scandal after photo scandal Disney decided to have a back-up plan should Miley Cyrus a.k.a. Hannah Montana decide to take a dive like alumni Lindsay Lohan and/or has-been celebrity sensation Britney Spears. Demi Lovato who starred in Camp Rock, is also being closely seen as a candidate for the pop princess crown. Now apparently these 2 girls are best friends and are quite talented - not to mention quite hot! Demi Lovato is like a younger Anne Hathaway and Selena Gomez looks more like Vanessa Hudgens.
Anyway moving on, I didn't hear any problem about this at first, so must be okay fine with everybody in the wholesome Disney world. But people guess again! Suddenly popping up from under the hood, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez make this video log on Youtube, no offense to them but coming like a year after the Miley and Mandy Youtube page which I bet they think they own by now, specially after beating the socks of ACDC in that online dance challenge they had a few months ago, doesn't look good for them. It looks very much like a copy-cat page that has probably offended the Miley/ Mandy tandem.
Also the fact that Nick Jonas is now dating Selena Gomez after being severely linked to Miley Cyrus. That must be such an ouch for Miley Cyrus, as the impression is she got dumped for a younger hotter version of her.
But that's still not an excuse to make fun of kids. Sure Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are kind of childish and well, confused. I've looked at their videos and most of them are really quite nonsensical. No offense, they're kids after all. If you want to waste time, then why not do it online right? They are just trying to be "relatable" to use the great Miley Cyrus defense word versus the Vanity Fair shot.
Here's the original video of Demi and Selena that was made fun of. It features Selena showing off her new Power Rangers shirt and Demi gabbing about how people thought her make-up was too dark.
And then here's the Miley and Mandy parody where they followed the one above almost word for word, making them sound a lot like playground bullies on Youtube, which is really uncool specially that Miley Cyrus/ Hannah Montana actually markets herself as a "role model." Wow! That's certainly ironic now isn't it?
And ladies and gentlemen, just to prove case and point - here's the mashed up version where both videos are actually combined into 1. Definitely highlights how mean Miley and Mandy are - chalk this one up to one of those "mistakes" Miley! And it's appropriately titled "IS THIS WHY NICK BROKE UP WITH MEANY MILEY CYRUS?"
Anyway Miley lay off the kids. What will Disney say?
