Can Jennifer Lopez handle American Idol?

"I can't do this anymore, " said Jennifer Lopez as she wept, while voting to kick off Chris Medina. This is all new to me," the singer explained to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Thursday, according to People Magazine. "I'm used to having a script in a movie, or a big performance with a cane and a microphone, and I have all kinds of stuff going on ... You're [not always] getting me."

Looks like it's all-out drama in the newest season of American Idol. I've got nothing against it, but I think they should have a judge with balls much like Simon Cowell. It takes a lot of guts and a lot of confidence to be able to boot someone out and say to their face that they won't make it. And sometimes some people just can't handle it. It's too bad that Jennifer Lopez is having a hard time. I think she's a great artist and can probably spot a star when she sees/ hears it better than previous judges, but if the pressure is just affecting her like that maybe this isn't the job for her - right?

American Idol is also quite the heart wrencher, bringing in all these sensational stories about people's past. Of course people will be vulnerable to seeing someone physically disabled or have someone in their life who's sick. The great back stories are being put way up front and can cloud people's judgement on who really has talent.

American Idol: Ellen de Generes OUT, Jennifer Lopez IN?

Fox just made it official: Ellen DeGeneres' much-criticized tenure as the fourth judge on "American Idol" has sputtered to an end after just one season. I sort of liked her there. It's too bad that Simon Cowell also left just recently.

American Idol must be trying to get out of a rut, given nine seasons? That's a long time to keep momentum though. They've managed to get this far. They must be running on profit already.

Remaining judges will be Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. They'll have to find another demon judge to be as blunt and entertainingly hateful as Simon Cowell. Rumor is Jennifer Lopez is about to join the gang, her music experience is okay I guess. But how good she is at being candid I'm not so sure.

This will have to be an exercise in re-energizing and rebranding the show. Good luck!

Adam Lambert Debuts Voodoo Single

Adam Lambert debuted his new album "For Your Entertainment" and I have to admit it is quite good. One of the bonus tracks is Voodoo - here it is from Youtube. Pardon the visual - I don't think it's that good. But the music isn't bad

American Idol's Newest Judge - Ellen DeGeneres Replaces Paula Abdul

I think American Idol just made one of its smartest moves replacing Paula Abdul with Ellen DeGeneres. She is cool & smart & honest. Even if she says she won't be a "mean" judge I think she will be honest about her opinions & that's what matters

The audience is divided about the fact that she's a comedian & not a "real" critique, and maybe that's a valid observation. She is first & foremost a comedian. We can't deny that American Idol wants people to watch the show - regardless of why they want to watch. Ellen is definitely a crowd drawer & I think that is one of the reasons they've considered her for the judge position. Whether she be comic relief or a valid decision maker in the new season of American Idol, I'm going to be sure to watch it anyway. I want to hear what she has to say - so I guess her move was a good idea

According to Ellen -- "Hopefully, I'm the people's point of view because I'm just like you," DeGeneres said on her syndicated talk show Thursday. "I sit at home and I watch it, and I don't have that technical ... I'm not looking at it in a critical way from the producer's mind. I'm looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person."

Adam Lambert's Rolling Stone Cover And "Crush" Kris Allen

Adam Lambert has gone all-out admitting his sexuality on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine even going so far as to admitting he had a crush on American Idol Season 8 champion Kris Allen. There was much adieu over Adam Lambert's sexuality, but who cares really? It's quite obvious he's gay. Handsome though so that's a shame but nothing much we can do if he prefers men over women right? But would it have made a difference had he been male on American Idol?

American Idol's Top 12 For 2009

Last night's show was certainly do-or-die for this first group of 12, so the song choices were absolutely crucial. Some struck just the right chord with the judges, while others fell a little flat. See the song list below:

Alexis Grace: "Never Loved A Man"
Ann Marie Boskovich: "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman"
Anoop Desai: "Angel Of Mine"
Brent Keith: "Hicktown"
Casey Carlson: "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic"
Danny Gokey: "Hero"
Jackie Tohn: "A Little Less Conversation"
Michael Sarver: "I Don't Want To Be"
Ricky Braddy: "A Song For You"
Stephen Fowler: "Rock With You"
Stevie Wright: "You Belong With Me"
Tatiana Del Toro: "Saving All My Love For You"

American Idol's "Bikini Girl" Gets Booted Out of the Show - Turns to where else? Playboy!

American Idol's “Bikini girl” Katrina Darrell just got booted off the show! That was a shame I thought she was quite a looker. The voice wasn't all too great but she could be a star. Apparently other companies like Playboy thought the same. Bikini Girl though was quote in an interview to have had a difficult time with new judge Kara DioGuardi.

As for why Darrell wore a swimsuit to her first AI audition, she explains, “It was 110 degrees in Phoenix and I heard that people wait 15 hours and don’t even get to audition so I figured, what the heck. At least I'll be tan." ---> Yeah Right! As if getting the male judges' attention just wasn't part of the ploy... not that it wasn't a good idea. She certainly got Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson's attention right? So I think she pulled it off

As “Idol” fans know, Katrina was axed from the show during Hollywood week after failing to impress the judges in a group audition. During the show, Katrina was shown heading to bed while her fellow group members stayed up practicing.

She claimed she practiced a lot more than what was shown but I guess they were just preparing to show her the door right? So there you go. Anyway Bikini Girl is also noted to have a huge crush on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest whom she has kissed numerous times.

New American Idol Judge - Kara DioGuardi, Replacement For Paul Abdul?

Rumors are flying that Paula Abdul doesn't like new judge, Kara DioGuardi, so much. Also that Simon Cowell has been insinuating that Paula Abdul should talk less now.

I honestly think, American Idol producers are poised to take out Paula Abdul really soon. It doesn't make sense to have four judges. 3 judges should have sufficed, now with 4 judges in American Idol, they can quote a tie! Now how would that fare? Would one of the judges have more voting power? Now that wouldn't seem fair now, would it?

Anyway American Idol can settle that by themselves. For now it will be quite interesting to see how 4 judges will haggle in the next season.

David Archuleta Gets Multi Million Dollar Record Deal

Well who says 2nd place isn't good enough? David Archuleta wouldn't say that after signing up with new producers at 19 Recordings/Jive Records. Would make sense after Simon Fuller, creator of "American Idol" and founder of 19 Entertainment Label Group, called him a shoe-in for the American Idol crown.

Bet it was a surprise for Simon that David Archuleta lost. Not that I'd call this record deal "losing."

David Cook And Kimberly Caldwell Dating?

Two American Idol's dating, now isn't that cute? David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell have reportedly went out on a date to Ruth's Chris steakhouse. Later, the 2008 winner told ABC News Radio, "She's great, and I look forward to seeing her again."

Ever wonder why they look so much better after they join and win the darned American Idol thing? It can get pretty annoying. They looked like such losers when they auditioned and they go out looking like a million dollars!

Anyway, good luck to the new American Idol couple, how they last longer than usual...

David Cook's First Album After American Idol Will Be "Rock"

David Cook is living up to the stereotype awarded to him by American Idol. He said his first album will definitely be rock and roll. He hopes to put out a rock album that will "make the hair on your neck stand up."

This 25-year-old guitarist from Missouri is just on his way to the top after winning American Idol's season 7, I think we have a lot to expect from this guy.

American Idol Winner - The Rocker, David Cook

Someone I admire always told me a rocker is always better than a crooner. I guess in this case, he was write. The American Idol Season 7 winner ended up to be the rocker David Cook instead of the crowd (young crowd) favorite, David Archuleta 17-year-old boy band material.

It was a good run though. Funny how the new American Idol winner became a contestant by "accident" after accompanying his brother, Andrew to the auditions. Serendipity can indeed be true for most people. Good thing sibling rivalry isn't big in the Cook family.

Anyway I think big brother Andrew will have it much easier than David now that the latter already has one foot in the door of fame and fortune

American Idol Final Night - David Cook Vs. David Archuleta

There's on rather corny comment I read on NY Daily News Blog that David Cook actually conceded to David Archuleta! That's absurd! Where's the fun in that?

They seem to want to play good guy versus good guy and confuse the heck out of everyone who's trying to vote. One thing I'd like to note is that David Cook sang U2's I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. That was pretty darn good! While David Archuleta sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" by Elton John.

I think their selections were very suited to their personalities and their "image." In the end I don't think it will be a battle of talent, because we know they've both got it - but a battle of stereotypes.

David Archuleta though is still the cute young gun who is the favorite to win this season. But who knows right? Rock might beat boy band pop material this time around.

American Idol's David Archuleta Responds To Stage Daddy Rumors

American Idol is down to 3 finalists and one is leaving tonight. What will happen this time? Can David Archuleta give it a go alone without stage daddy? I'm pretty sure he'll be fine. I think daddy has caused more harm than good.

Apparently Jeff Archuleta is no longer allowed to schedule sessions with son, David and was even said to be "banned" from the backstage area. This was rebuffed though by David Archuleta's voice coach Dean Kaelin who shared what really happened.

It appears that having Daddy Jeff Archuleta around gave David an unfair advantage and they wanted to take this out at the last minute. Hmm... something didn't sound right there but anyway moving on, Jeff suggested a lyrics change in one of the episodes that had American Idol paying for royalties on 2 songs instead of just one for David's performance. So that definitely must have hit a nerve.

Three to go - David Cook, David Archuleta and Syesha Mercado vie for the last spot on American Idol!

Viewers Want Paula Abdul Out Of American Idol?

There has been an overwhelming response against Paul Abdul for her mess up in the last episode of American Idol. People are indeed fickle. After 7 good seasons and being the most watched show in United States prime time television, Paula Abdul is being judged outright for fouling up on her commentary.

I do admit it was rather stupid the way she sounded but I guess people do make mistakes right? The show does stand by her so that must make her feel better. But she should watch her back because people are thinking of who could better replace her. It's sad because that little slip up caused a big stir and caused a drop in American Idol viewers by a million. That's no small number.

The Final Four OfThe American Idol Have Been Chosen

The final four of the American Idol, if you don't already know are David Archuleta, David Cook, Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado. Who will win? David Archuleta gets my vote - he's cute and he can sing and that's good enough for me.

Apparently the next to go will be Jason Castro. But last Wednesday Syesha Mercado was the unfortunate other who had lowest votes along with Brooke White who just left the show. So it's a toss up there. We'll have to watch the next round then

American Idol Scripted? Recent Paula Abdul Blunder Seems To Hint Scripted!

In the recent Paula Abdul gaffe on international television as judge on American Idol has raised doubts that the show may be scripted. After Jason Castro sang a song during the Neil Diamond-themed night, she commented on two songs rather than one! Keep your head in the game girl!

I think it's scripted - even Simon Cowell's degree of sarcasm and negativity is scripted (personal opinion). Maybe during initial auditions they have more "say" as to when a contestant gets in the show or not, but I think later on they just ad lib a bit but most of their decisions I bet is made on a more "financial" perspective if you know what I mean. After all, show business is still a business
